I've been looking all around the internet to find a bootable cd that can run the mcafee antivirus. After testing several tips, I was finally able to create a bootable cd with mcafee antivirus in it. The bootable cd is made using BartPE and Mcafee Command Line Scanner. The virus definitions included were on May 16, 2011.
The download is split into 3 files, so you have to download all 3 parts before you can extract the iso file. You can then burn the iso file into a CD.
Use the following command to scan your drive:
scan x: /all /clean /sub /recursive /nc
where x is your drive letter. But first, you have to change directory to where the scan.exe program is. For example, if your cd drive is D, and you want to scan drive C, run the following commands in the command prompt:
d:
cd\programs\mcafee
scan c: /all /clean /sub /recursive /nc

Sudden Loss of Network Connectivity
With the popularity of windows vista and windows 7, comes some new headaches for the users. One such headache is sudden loss of network connectivity. For no apparent reason, the network connection that was previously working fine suddenly fails. Whatever the cause may be, here are the steps I do to fix it:
1. Reset the winsock by doing the following steps:
a. Open a command prompt (Click Start, click Run. Type cmd at the box, then press Enter)
b. On the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes) then press Enter.
c. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
2. If that doesn't work, I usually check the physical appearance of the LAN cables (if the computer is connected via LAN cable [wired]). If there appears some hint of corrossion, I scrape them off with a small knife or a small screwdriver.
3. If that still doesn't work, I now run a trojan remover. One of my most used trojan remover is Simply Super Software's Trojan remover (http://www.simplysup.com), which does a good job of catching some nasty trojans and other viruses. It also has some pretty good features in the Utilities menu like the resetting of Internet Explorer settings, etc..).
4. If it fails, I'll try using a different harddisk, formatting it then trying the network connectivity.
5. If it fails, then it might be a hardware issue.
6. But if it works, then I know that I have to reformat the computer.

Canon Error B200
While repairing a Canon IP2700, I came across this error B200. I searched in google, but the suggestions of the techies says to have the printer for repair or for warranty. The error seems to be that something is overheating (I think the ink cartridge). I disassembled and cleaned up the printer, and after putting everything back, the error remains the same.
The fix was, funny, just to replace the ink cartridge. In my case, the ink color cartridge (811) was the culprit. So, after replacing the color ink cartridge, the printer went working fine again. Another bug charged to experience.
